Three weeks into internship land, I've adjusted to the whole getting up with the sun, am beginning to enjoy my commute, and have sampled quite a few of the delights that Barkingside High Street has to offer.
I'm in the Publishing and Communications department, along with one other intern, Ashley, who I'm sure shall be blogging along here soon. From the word go we were given a wide variety of tasks to get our teeth stuck into, writing news stories, revamping sections of the internal internet system (named Bart, but no one really knows why..) arranging interviews and photoshoots (all tres glamorous!) for features in the various staff and supporter publications, arranging Fun'raising week, and other general copy editing that comes our way. It's been great! As soon as we arrived we were given our own desk, mug, pen, notepad etc, and made to feel very much a part of the team.
My favourite thing so far has been being showed how to use indesign whilst editing the Annual Review, for I do like to make things pretty...
